At this event, we learned how Oquirrh Elementary School has integrated social emotional learning (SEL) throughout their school day.

We met with administrators and educators to learn:

-When, why and how Oquirrh Elementary School started to prioritize social emotional learning for their students and teachers.

-How Oquirrh Elementary generated buy-in and integrated SEL throughout their school day.

-We learned about their Wellness Room and how it is utilized by students and teachers.

-How Oquirrh is continuing to use Move This World, one of their social emotional learning programs, virtually and see the resource in action.

About the School: Oquirrh Elementary School is a K-6 school in West Jordan, Utah enrolling approximately 750 students. The Oquirrh staff is committed to providing students with a safe and caring learning environment where students are given a good foundation in basic skills and then are encouraged to achieve high levels of academic performance. Students receive many opportunities to enable them to grow academically, socially and emotionally.

What is Move This World?

Move This World cultivates students’ social and emotional learning (SEL) skills that empower them to navigate the complex and rapidly-changing realities of our world. Move This World is a social emotional learning program that enables students to establish and maintain healthy relationships with peers, staff and themselves. The curriculum is delivered through an extensive online library of PreK-12 videos and resources rooted in creative expression that help students, teachers + staff develop a common language to improve communication and build trust. Move This World has impacted the lives of over 1 million students.
