Three Minutes of Happiness

In times of uncertainty or stress, it can be hard for students to focus on the things that bring them happiness. It can be especially difficult when students don’t exactly understand why they’re feeling stress. In these situations, it can be difficult to remain positive, and it’s easy to forget the positive coping strategies they could lean on.

Simply thinking about things or activities that spark joy can turn negative emotions into positive ones. In the long term, students who have the skills to focus on a positive mindset and happiness have higher emotional resilience.

In this exercise, you will find activities for parents and families to practice focusing on sources of happiness with their students. Students will have three minutes of happiness to share what makes them happy through creative exercises. This is an activity that you can do each week to help nurture a positive mindset!
